Having a fair smooth beautiful skin is one of what most dark colored Asian women dream of. Since, most of us were naturally born with a light brown complexion, glowing pinkish-white skin seems more attractive. Add this to our constant exposure to foreign culture and it comes as no surprise that we’ve grown to idolize and imitate what they look like.

Asian skin color is beautiful. But since the mob would notice more those who have a fairer skin, many women go to extreme lengths to secure it. Women usually do anything for the sake of having that desirable complexion. They seek a dermatologist to have professional help, have as many sessions of bleaching as they can, and many apply the principle of healthy living, that’s eating healthy foods and having enough rest.

Out of this fad, a whitening solution was born. Glutathione has become one of the most popular whitening products today and is also currently the fastest selling whitening medicine. Glutathione comes in either a capsule or in a soap form. And it is not made of ordinary another whitening ingredients.

The main function of glutathione is that it works as an antioxidant for the body, and it helps protect cells from reactive oxygen species such as free radicals and peroxide. It is also a nucleophilic and attacks poisonous conjugate acceptors.

The reason why it came in as a whitening formula is because intake overdose of this medicine led to fairer and glowing skin. That is why it is being suggested to take 2-4 capsules everyday and this will allow the user to take 2-3 months to see the result.

Colored light therapy is commonly known as the chromotherapy. It is the science and art that uses the power of colors in order to restore health and the personal well being of a person. During the ancient times, the Indians and the Greeks used colors in the treatment of the weak and the infirm. The Egyptians also believed that Thot, (one of their gods) was the divine origin of the natural color healing. The color light energy based its principles on the ancient belief that the human body is comprised of various energy fields. In order to replace the energy that is deficient, energy is needed to regain the balance in the person’s physical state.

The colored light therapy is applied in the treatment of various skin problems such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis. In some cases, the therapy is also used to counteract with some psychiatric and psychological illnesses or the seasonal depression. During the treatment the condition of the patient would dictate what color will be used for the procedure. Each color wavelength varies so a certain color can treat depression but not acne. The full spectrum color therapy is considered as the safest wherein the vibrations are in its full spectrum.

Basically, there are three ways on how the color therapy is administered. The first one is the spot therapy where a specific color is directly applied to a certain part of the body through direct touch. The second one is the chakra color therapy. The procedure includes the exposure of the energy points of the body or the “chakra” with a specific colored light. And the last one is the pyramid color therapy wherein the geometrical shapes of the pyramids are combined with the healing properties of colors.

Our society these days are bombarded with escalating issues about substance abuse and teenage suicide associated with depression. Statistics about the issue are sobering. It is said that 8 out of 10 teenagers suffer depression at different levels for various reasons. With the pressure and difficult challenges that these new generations are facing each day, they are likely to develop this negative emotion. Feelings of sadness despair, worthlessness and hopelessness, whether expressed or not will lead to depression. Sometimes, the teen will experience physical manifestations that are very evident for the parents and peers to notice.

Teenage depression is considered a serious condition but like any other form of depression, this kind of disorder is treatable. Support and encouragement plays a vital role in the recovery of the person suffering from it. The sheer force of an individual to get rid of it right away will not help though it can contribute to the motivation. Function as an enabler as much as possible. If you think that your teenage son or daughter is ready to open up, try to have a good conversation. Don’t open up the issue. When they are ready to open up, they will start talking to you about it.

One thing you should know is that you can never fix other people’s depression. They may be treated by the medical experts but the whole thing depends on the patient. Whatever self processing the depressed patient will undergo, if the root cause of depression is unresolved and the person does not want to move on, the treatment will not prosper. Talking to the person in a language that he or she can relate would be best assistance anybody can give.

reikiThe term Reiki comes from two Japanese words- Rei meaning “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which means “life force energy”. It is a technique that reduces stress and promotes healing and relaxation. The whole process is administered by the “laying of hands” as part of the application of the universal life force energy. Reiki healing is considered as one holistic therapy since it involves physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The teaching claims that the inexhaustible universal spiritual energy can provide a healing effect. Once the hands of the practitioner are placed on the recipient, energy will flow through and the healing process can then take place.

During treatment, practitioners may use a fixed hand position or various positions depending on the kind of treatment being initiated. In a typical procedure which involves the whole body, 12 to 20 positions are applied and it usually lasts for about 45 to 90 minutes. Before moving to another position, the hands are kept still for 3 to 5 minutes. In a series of more than 3 treatments, a usual 1 to 7 days interval is observed especially in addressing patients with chronic disorders. Some practitioners may consider their intuition as a guide as to where the treatment is much needed. They usually take some time to enter a meditative state to become mentally prepared for the treatment. Unnecessary talking is avoided.

There are plenty of beneficial effects that Reiki healing brings. Many have already reported about miraculous results. Though it is spiritual in nature, it is not considered as a religion. The system of healing starts from within and there is a need to be in harmony with others. This whole process on the other hand is not dependent on certain beliefs and will work whether you believe in it or not.

Aromatherapy is known for the use of topical applications and performance of relaxing massages, compresses and baths. The Chinese people were the first ones who believed that it can improve a person’s well-being. In aromatherapy, naturally-made essential plant oils are being utilized for the enhancement of both the physical and psychological aspect of a person. Sometimes, aromatherapy involves the burning of fragrant incense to create harmony and balance moods.

Here are some of the aromatherapy benefits:

  • It helps combat symptoms of depression. Although the practice of proper and holistic aromatherapy can help in enhancing one’s emotional outlook, it should not be considered as a cure for depression.
  • It can fight colds and flu. The safe use of the essential oils can keep your immune system healthy enough to fight bacteria and viruses that cause all sorts of sickness.
  • It’s also known to reduce arthritic pains. Some aromatherapy blends have anti-inflammatory characteristics that are ideal for arthritis. These essential oils are said to have the power to lessen the pain brought on by joint inflammation.
  • It aids you in improving your sleeping pattern. Insomnia has a big impact on our well-being. Prolonged lack of sleep can lead to biological, mental and emotional stresses. But with the help of aromatherapy, a person can get his or her hands of that much needed rest. However, it will not cure him or her of insomnia. The cooling aromatherapy concoctions can only help a person fall asleep faster.
  • It can assist in your ongoing weight loss program. The aromatic blends will help lessen the impact of your “withdrawal” symptoms. And the energizing essential oils will help in refurnishing power for those daily workouts.

Over the years, aromatherapy has been considered as an alternative healing technique. Its application of essential oils and therapeutic reflexology has brought about many forms of improvement in health. Research has shown that aromatherapy wields an immense healing power and brings forth an abundance of health benefits. And since it makes use of natural essential oils, aromatherapy has become a viable alternative to the use of synthetically made health products.
